Testimonials
Love the new bbRad Console. Works well - looks very tidy.
- Jon Teece, PACS Manager at Royal Bournemouth
You may get the impression that I am rather enthusiastic about this method of connection, you'd be right. I think it's the way forward and prevents us being swamped with a tidal wave of CDs.
- Rus Palmer, PACS Manager at Southampton University Hospitals
bbRad's benefit for us is sorting out workflow in these transfers. It has reduced manual intervention for both sender and receiver. It has also improved turnaround time for clinicians and reduced the cover needed out of hours from the system administrator. For us, it is also vital to be able to link to the ISTC for a range of diagnostic images.
- Philip Scott, Head of IM&T at Portsmouth Hospitals Trust
We recieve images direct to our LSP PACS. This is far superior to the previous system since it is far more user friendly...images are now accessible from any terminal and therefore in theatre, the place it is needed most.
- Diederik Bulters, Neurosurgeon at Southampton University Hospitals
The bbRad connection to Southampton really helps me plan patients' pathways. As discussed (many, many times) if we're treating people from outlying areas we need access to diagnostics, but shouldn't be dishing out extra doses of radiation unecessarily.
- Madeline Mills, Orthopaedic Sister at Royal Bournemouth
This system saves time burning CDs and posting the CDs to us. It saves our clinicians the time and effort of locating a PC to upload the CD images. The system transfers images in moments, reports if the images are not delivered and the images don't get lost and are secure.

Case Studies
Shared Services and Independent Sector
Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust, like so many other hospitals, shares some of its services
across neighbouring hospitals. This case study shows how bbRad supports their satellite
orthopaedic service, with both clinics and surgery being performed at a separate but
neighbouring hospital, in this case Royal Hospital Haslar.
It also shows how referrals from the independent sector are handled.
Since this case study was written, in 2006, Portsmouth have expanded the service to other
NHS Trusts and can now send and receive imaging from any bbRad-enabled hospital in the UK.
