Sybermedica and Cypher I.T. launch automated DICOM mail service

Sybermedica and Cypher Information Technology have announced an agreement to link their PACSMail and bbRad image and report sharing technologies to provide a secure, flexible, automated data sharing service for clinical networks.

The link allows users of Cypher I.T.'s bbRad teleradiology server to share DICOM studies with users of the Sybermedica PACSMail network. The joint solution combines PACSMail's DICOM messaging and viewing functions with bbRad's workflow solution to control the automated entry of images and reports directly into PACS / RIS. Studies can also be cc’d via PACSMail to other users within the hospital or to the wider healthcare community.

Trusts will now be able to link not just to their regular, high-volume NHS and private sector neighbours, but also receive imaging from ad-hoc senders anywhere in the UK or world-wide with minimal fuss and virtually nil setup required. It enables smaller and mid-sized sites, whether NHS or not, to both refer patients to and seek advice from specialist centres of their choice.’
